Ah. Summer.

I'm not feeling very creative this morning, so decided to put up some photos from this year's agility trials. I have hundreds of photos! Here's some. Cooper loves, loves, freakin loves agility.
These were all UKC trials, they have some equipment AKC doesn't, like the sway bridge and crawl tunnel.

Crawl tunnel.

Take-off!

LOVE to jump.

Hoop tunnel.

Airborne, again.

I love this one. At the start line. I am asking him to be a very good boy and get us a Q, if not a placement. Failing that, just having fun is OK too.

Git those contacts!!

Sway bridge, ooh, wobbly.

WHEEEE!

Dogs have to be aware of where they place their feet on the dog walk...

Teeter like a pro!

Great action shots! Looks as though Coop is having a blast. I've never even seen some of the obstacles that UKC has.

Those are really great pictures. You both look like you couldn't be having more fun working together. You inspire me to get back into this.

Rachel - so have you started classes with Ivy yet?

Jaimie...the contact zones are painted different, I think the same as AKC? As long as one toe is on the zone, you're good to go. Except the swing plank, where the rules are ambiguous but most judges will let a big dog get by with two feet hitting. (No pics here of that obstacle.)

Jan, it's really fun, I say get back into it!

Great pics Carina!! Coop looks like he's having a ball! That's a big boy by the way.

I'm glad you are as happy as I am with the election outcome. My only major disappointments were in not getting Mike Cox and Terri Lynn Land out of office. Well, that and not being able to vote Bush off the planet. . .LOL!!

I'm off to your other place. . .

BTW: New post in a day or so.

HUGGSS!!

Ohmigosh! I know nothing about the agility training except so many people I run into are involved in it. Coop looks like he is having SO MUCH fun. How old was he when you got him into it? What a great thing....

Lauren, ditto, ditto! I'll swing by....huggss back atcha. :) I'm surprised Cox won by the margin he did.

Thanks Karen! Yes, he's my big ole boy, just a great dog.

Jill - much too old, wish I'd gotten him into it much, much younger! He is almost six years old which is solidly middle aged for a Rottweiler and we've been doing it for about a year and a half. I try to keep him working because he is typical Rottweiler and LOVES to work. If there's a class near you (which there probably is) try an intro class...most dogs adore it and it's so good for coordination and confidence.

Aren't the results of the elections great! Now I can follow politics with more interest because it is possible that something good might happen. It's great to see arrogant Busch humbled (unless that was all an act.) Big phoney! I'm from Illinois as you know (you're neighbor) and I'm so proud to have Osana Barach to be from my state! And so glad he was re-elected though I never really thought that he wouldn't be. The final two states were so suspensful. I kept going to the computer and checking to see if Dems had won! I read that they had on BBC! They know what is going on here better than a lot of us know ourselves. It's too bad that we here in the United States don't have the commitment to stay informed on politics like it seems the rest of the world does. Oh....and Coop is awesome! What a smart dog! All of my dogs have always been spacey little fluffheads or big galumphs!

Love the look of your shaggy boy. And he *is* having a blast, isn't he?

I'm debating getting the wired one in our household into agility. There's classes in Novi that look really good from the web page... Gone to the Dogs

But I'm pretty sure they will want him to have some solid obdience levels, first, and we are still working on... sigh... recall.
